In 1925, Ras Hitson Cleveland acquired Browning Electrical Motor Repair Company after his father's passing. What began as a small motor repair shop has grown over five generations into one of the Southeast's most trusted specialty contractors.
Today, Cleveland Electric employs hundreds of skilled professionals, operates a 65,000 sq ft prefabrication facility, and maintains a fleet of 60+ fully stocked service vehicles providing 24/7 support across the region.

1925
Ras Hitson Cleveland founds Cleveland Electric, acquiring Browning Electrical Motor Repair Company in Atlanta.
1959
Founder passes operations to sons Louie and James. Louie continues electrical repair; James launches specialty contracting.
1979
Awarded the landmark 10-year, $315 million contract for Vogtle Nuclear Plant's first two units.
1980s-90s
Major automotive manufacturing projects: GM facilities and Ford's Hapeville assembly plant.
1998
Strategic sale of motor repair business to focus entirely on specialty contracting.

Fifth generation leads the company with 60+ service vehicles, 65,000 sq ft prefab facility, and projects across the Southeast.
